Secrets To Why The Rich Get Richer

95% of Australia’s population at age 65 is either dead, dead broke or on the pension. This is not discriminatory.

This includes Tradies, Engineers, IT Consultants, Doctors, Lawyers, School teachers, Secretaries, Accountants and so on.

How can this be possible?

The Australian Government pumps Billions of dollars in education from school days to retirement and yet at the end of the day 95% of us can barely feed ourselves…..

It’s the Government’s fault!

They should provide a bigger Pension!

It’s not fair to work all your life so hard and then live so poor in your twilight days…..

Or is it?

Approximately 14 years ago I was an employee with a JOB. (Just Over Broke). I was on about $50,000 a year as a Senior accountant. I had a young family and my son was just born. It was tough. We were barely surviving – money comes in / more money goes out.

I was under tremendous stress!

Our family was on the edge.

We had no backup plan or enough savings if anything went wrong.

My son was sick. How could we afford to pay for him?

I was on verge of a nervous breakdown so many times….

I did everything I could… I decided to go back  to school to get a CA.

That would help!

I worked on weekends.

Just two short years later…. After giving up all my free time to either study frantically or work, I got my qualification.

And I was rewarded.

My boss congratulated me and gave me a $7000 pay rise.

This soon led to my huge mindshift..

We could not keep going on living life like this!

Both my husband and I worked so hard, yet hardly saw each other!

I worked my guts out for 2 years and traded all my time away for a $7k payrise , longer hours and more pressure at work.

The additional money made no difference.

Buddha bless me…. If any emergency or accident happened to my family or me, we were gone.

And then….

I lost my health.

The doctor said I could no longer keep doing what I was doing. My body and mind could not keep up.

Then my true education came….

I met Rolf.

As with any great mentor, many of his words still resonate in my head to this day.

One of my favourites – ‘Don’t trade time with money’.

He explained to me that most people live in denial.

We are educated at school to survive and support society. We are taught to get a J.O.B and stick our hand out each week to get our pay.

That’s it.

I thought about that. I reflected on my life.

I was like a cart horse with a carrot in front of my head.

I worked so hard and lost my health for an extra $7k.

Did this change my life? My quality of living? Did it give me back time to spend with my family? Did it build emergency funds we would desperately need if anything went wrong?  My nest egg later on or the home of my dreams?

Rolf said something which at first really offended me.

He said, ‘You have an addiction’.

You are addicted to pay cheques and money.

You are controlled by your fears and don’t allow your mind to think clearly away from your emotions.

Fear – Pay cheque – spend – fear

The truth is that our schooling presents us perfectly to get our jobs.

Then… just like an addict…. An alcoholic…. We give up all our energy and time… for the next pay cheque.  We spend…. Fear some more, spend and go back for the next one.

Get up…. Start at 8.30am….. come home at 6pm…… or in my case 8pm.

We give our lives away for money…. We do not respect how it works

Year after year….. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50……

So many people say to me….. its ok Lan. I am safe. In 10 years time,  I will have saved enough to retire. I will have a few hundred bucks a week.

Are you safe?

Do you have control of your life?

We have a J.O.B and we place all our trust in another person whom pays us a modest sum.

Just like a gentle old woman feeding the ducks some bread next to the pond each day.

We give our life for some person and they pay us a little money to eat, sleep and come back again the next day.

What happens if we lose our health and cannot work in our J.O.B? What if the company goes bust? What if we have issues with our superiors?

We are controlled by our FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real).

We don’t know anything better. We go to school. Complete our education and then we switch the light off.

Most of us never learn even the most simple steps to create wealth.

Its not hard.

In fact it is so simple….. and as most of you know….. a short education of 6 months transformed my complete life.

‘IT’S HOW YOU USE YOUR MONEY – TO MAKE MONEY WORK FOR YOU’

I fought so hard for 2 years to make a $7k payrise. I gave my health and all my free time.

Just two years after meeting Rolf,  I was the owner of three properties and had made a profit of over $750,000 in Capital Growth.  I was able to work less time and now I had a nest egg well and truly growing. I had money to immediately give in case of an emergency and I felt safe.

Fast track 10 years and I have  20.

I say this not to impress but to impress upon you.

After two years my income had increased from $57k a year to approximately $307k a year and rising.

Sure. A CEO might be on $307k.  Then he pays Tax.  47%?

I am sure he works incredibly hard and trades most of his time for money.

And of course… he then gives back  $117k  to the Government… or almost 6 months work or lets just say Monday, Tuesday and half of Wednesday for free.

We are not meant to live like this.

The problem is we live in FEAR and don’t allow ourselves to think as our emotions take over our mind.

I know.  I used to be so stressed I could not sleep at night…. Worried about work, worried about the family’s financial position, to pay the next bill etc etc

If we all could just have a moment to think clearly without these distractions and had the right education on how to make money work for us….. we would drop our addiction.

My young employee Andy. Most of you know him well. He was the same as me. Same position and virtually the same wage.

Just over a year ago I assisted him and he will by the end of this year have assets worth $3 million.

I don’t think he will try for his CA. He understands….
